National Drug Evidence Centre (NDEC) team

Dr Michael Donmall: Director of NDEC and Principal Investigator to the study. Has overall responsibility for the performance and completion of the project, including the quantitative, qualitative and CBA elements.

Andrew Jones: Project coordinator. Full time project worker responsible for day to day operations, timetabling and coordination of team members as well as design, analysis and write up.

Samantha Weston: Full time Research Associate: has principle responsibility for liaison with Trusts, DATs and agencies as well as for design, analysis and write up.

Dr Tim Millar: Part time Research Fellow to the project: main responsibilities include design, analysis, write up and advice to the project. Lead on publication strategy.

Matthew Gittins: Part time statistician to the project.

Rebecca Fenwick: Part time administrator to the project.

National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) team

Andrew Shaw: Research Group Head: Has overall responsibility for the quantitative study data collection and provision.

Tracy Anderson: Research Director: Lead researcher for the quantitative survey. Responsible for the design and project management of the quantitative survey fieldwork and data preparation. Also contributing to the analysis and reporting.

Tom Anderson: Senior Researcher: Responsible for questionnaire development and computer aided personal interviewing (CAPI) programming, interviewer training and managing the day to day operations of the fieldwork. Also contributing to the design, analysis and reporting.

Alison Moody: Researcher: Responsible for planning and organising the fieldwork and interviewer training, and supporting day to day operations. Also contributing to the design, questionnaire development, analysis and reporting.

William O'Connor: Deputy Director of Qualitative Research Unit. Has strategic responsibility for the qualitative component.

Stephen Webster: Research Director: Has overall responsibility for the design and project management of the qualitative element of DTORS.

Matt Barnard: Senior Researcher: Lead researcher for the qualitative study, has responsibility for project administration as well as sample design, participant recruitment, fieldwork, analysis and write up.

Other Collaborators

Linda Davies: Reader and Director of Health Economics Research at Manchester. Has overall responsibility for the design, analysis and write up of the cost benefit analysis.

Dr Petra Meier: Lecturer in Public Health, School of Health and Related Research, University of Sheffield. Psychologist advisor to DTORS.

Georgios Vamvakas: Full time Research Assistant (July 2006 to September 2007): will collect economic data, and contribute to the analysis and write up of the cost benefit analysis.

Dr Islay Gemmell: Advisory statistician to the project.
